Eli's Ears: so cute yet so troublesome
As it turns out, Eli's ear-tubes are no longer in his eardrums, the infections and wax has pushed/pulled them out! SOOOOO
we have a couple of options: 1] Wait and hope he doesn't get more infections throughout the warm summer months. (that option didn't work out last summer) or 2] Have them put the tubes back in. Only this time, the Dr. recommends cauterizing his adenoids to open up more of his eustachian tube. (this would require a heavier sedation, for 15 minutes longer, which means he'd have to have an IV.) Sad, he's not even 2 yet. We're not sure what we'll do at this point, I understand Eli has a real problem considering he just got this first set of tubes 7 months ago! This isn't exactly a convenient time to schedule surgery though, since we're gonna have a baby at some point in the next couple of weeks, but having a child unable to sleep, and be on MORE antibiotics/motrin plus dr. visits while having a newborn isn't ideal either.
